Mississippi Auctioneers Association (MAA) members William L. Head, Madison, and Courtney Jo Weaver, Forest, recently completed designation courses offered July 17-19 prior to the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) International Conference and Show held in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Head, who already holds designations of Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE), Certified Estate Specialist (CES), Benefit Auction Specialist (BAS), Certified Appraisers Guild of America (CAGA), and Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI)- the most highly respected educational designation in the auction industry- completed coursework toward his sixth designation, Auction Marketing Management (AMM). The AMM designation focuses on branding, marketing, audience and messaging, technology applications, Facebook marketing, online metrics and Google analytics, as well as traditional marketing.

Weaver completed coursework toward her first designation, Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE). AARE is NAA’s premier real estate designation which takes attendees through conducting a real estate auction from prospecting to closing after the auction. The three-day class also explores opportunities for real estate outside of the auction method of marketing.

Both designations require special reports of auction events, passing an exam, and continuing education to complete designation.
